My DD is growing up so fast and she was so happy knowing that she is taller than me. She made a statement that I am her child and I immediately called her "Mom".
She had a nice day on her day! Happy birthday my DD. I was so happy the day when you were born.

Choosing a family pet
Our family never have a family dog. We had previous pets like fish and parakeet. We attempted before to get a dog when the mother just had the baby on their first born,Benjamin. We were sitting a pomeranian dog before for more than a year. He never be our dog.
My daughter, Mary really wanted to get a cat. She is a cat person but then I was allergic and could not bear the itch for so long. We find a good home for her.
So we were talking of getting a puppy. First we are considering of getting a German Shepherd Dog. Mary and I are excited and we like it cause of the wolf looks and train it as a protector. Who likes to be beaten by a 75 to 80 lb dog!
Last November, I was looking for a puppy and find out the cost. It was not cheaper though but we wanted to get the puppy around spring. Brian and I talk more about the breed. Ben does not care of what we gonna get. We were spending time reading reviews and who likes the breeds to be top 1 family dog. So, we decided to get a golden retriever.
So, another puppy shopping. Sending messages to breeder and plus saving money cause the cost it is not gonna be cheap. I found a breeder in Oregon and she seemed not so nice person. She only replied my message. "Thank you my puppy is being adopted". I even asked her if when she gonna another litter from her other dog. She replied "Thank you my puppies are being adopted". I really hate that answer. http://www.chainofgold.net
Next, we look the very farthest one which is living in Crescent City CA. I sent message and the guy replied my message and even taking my call when I was asking him that we are interested his pupps.
Our journey begins when we choose the puppy
We visited Rosie March 1 and so excited to bring her home.

We are quiet busy here at home. We made a flower bed and I planned of putting flower beds in my front yard. I am thinking just to leave a path way. So excited the outcome!
The kids were busy as well, Ben is preparing for his MSP test while Mary is relaxing. The kids are ready to play in the backyard- so much for that! Their dad did not mow the lawn LOL.

Turning my Family Active
I think I just have too much excitement that Brian and I ran together. I was inviting him 6 years ago. I was running on and off- there is no proper motivation. I was a mountain climber before I got married. I maintain my weight.
When I see myself that I am gaining weight and I know I will end up of having diabetes. It runs in my family and if I am not careful then I can't escape with it.
Today, I bought pairs of running shoes for Ben and Mary and also a wicking outfit. The kids were excited with their new outfit. I even bought Ben's outfit with a green hint cause he likes green. Mary always likes pink.
On Sunday, we will do our long run. We will run as long as we want.
It was really great that we joined the the 4 mi for the 4th Fun Run. Brian finished around 36 minutes and I did finished about 48 minutes. This month, there is 5k run and we will run again. That is after we climb Mt Fuji.
So happy... I am an outgoing person and love nature. This is it. This is what I want to my family getting involve with an outdoor activities. I am so thankful for that.

Joining the 4 of the 4th Yokosuka Base Japan
Brian and I started to train for marathon, there is no specific when we gonna join the marathon but we are determine to join as soon as there is one. I was looking for runners group and found one in Gig Harbor, not too far to drive from Belfair. I am so excited to come home in the states.
Brian is being motivated during the event here in the base- "The wounded warrior". He thought that he does not want to leave his family early. He has high cholesterol and even taking a blood pressure medicine. I invited him before, that was six years ago.
Myself, I have no interest of running in a fun run or a marathon but I just wanna run just to keep myself healthy. Honestly, I ran on and off. It is not continued, I just don't have any motivation. I saw a few of my friends running 5k or even 10k and saw their bib number hanging on their shirt. I always have a thought "It should be I have that kind of number too". When this thing gonna be happening.
My first try is to join the 4-4th Fun Run, it is 4 miles running here inside the base which is sponsored by the Navy Fitness. When I was running with Brian during my training. I run 1.5 miles without walking, that impressed me. I finished line with 47 minutes and 48 seconds. Believed me! I am so proud with it. I was so happy that I made a little accomplishment.

Habit of waking UP
My eyes are getting used to wake up with my husband at 430. He run at 500 but I run before him though. Target weight 105 lbs and am 119 lbs right now. I need 6200 calories per week to burn and eat 1200 calories per day. I just use webMD to calculate everything and no more sweets and extra snacks in the next 7 weeks. Liquid to drink; only water and of course my soy milk in every morning and evening.

3rd day on Running training
Distance: 1.26 mi
Duration: 00:17
Pace: 13:23
:( it says I burned 139 calories
3rd day says: run/walk but it does not says how far and how long. So I came up my own distance. I run/walk with Kai today. Of course there is couple stops for him to mark our route. Kai was a runner, he run as fast as he could (if I let him to).
The breeze of the air feels so good while the sun hitting my face. I love to see the sun first thing in the morning. I actually recorded two rounds in my maptracks, i forgot to press the start button, Kai was just so excited to run. I did not feel tired after all. But my legs are sore and I am determine to continue running. I kept asking my husband before to run with me and I have no motivation after all. I should of do it. :( Oh well, here I am again and am looking forward to climb Mt Fuji this summer for the second time, I gotta plan this.
Well, I gotta get off in my computer and do errands at home- class as well..

2nd Day Run schedule
Location: CFAY Japan
Run: 1.5 mi
Duration: 00:15:00
Pace: 10:00
2nd day on the training schedule. First day is at rest lol. I woke up 435 and dressed up my running outfit. Came out 449 and came back 506. Took out Kai and run with him and of course with all his stops for 0.41 mile. The marking of the roads LOL. The breeze of the air felt so cold slapping in my face. It helps draining out my sweats. It was a lovely morning. Love it.
I dunno if I have sore muscles it yet. I will find out tomorrow.
Since, our car was impounded and there are two ways to go to Ikego by train and or carpool with someone else. Since, I am too stubborn not to call one of my friends then we choose to ride a train. I was looking at the bus schedule 935 and we are ready to go out at 9:15.. oh well I should wait the bus but instead we walk 1.6 mile from the quarters going to the train station lol.....and now I felt that am very tired.

Planting Raspberries
Creating Hummingbird Paradise
The oldest historical mention of hummingbirds likely dates back to the Taino Native Americans, who were reportedly the first humans to greet Columbus when he landed in America. The Taino believe that hummingbirds are the spreaders of life on Earth, and their warriors were known as Colibir, or Hummingbird warriors, because they are a peaceful bird that will defend their territory with the heart of an eagle.
How long they have been in America is unknown, but they have delighted bird watchers for many years, with their quick dashes into the garden, and the shine of the sun on brilliant feathers. While there actually are duller colored birds, the ruby-throated hummingbird is the most commonly recognized for its iridescent feathering, and dazzling ruby-red throat. The color though, is not all it seems.
Hummingbirds get their unusual coloring from the fact that not all feathers are pigmented, or colored. In the duller colors, including the Rufous Hummingbird, the brown hue is actual pigment in the feather structure. In the ruby-throated variety, light refracting through the feather segments, breaking it up much like a prism would. Only certain levels of color will be seen by the human eye, and that color will change with every movement of the feather, or angle of the light striking it.
This is one of the features that makes them so charming to watch as they flit around a garden or feeder. Hummingbirds are very fast, traveling at an average 25 miles per hour, with wing beats of anywhere from 10-15 per second in the Giant Hummingbird, up to 80 per minute by the Amethyst Woodstar. The ruby-throated hummer falls into the middle range, at about 53 beats per second.
To sustain such rapid and prolonged activity, the hummingbird’s heart must beat accordingly. For birds that are hot, or sleepy, that can be as low as 50-180 beats per minute, but a heart rate of an amazing 1360 beat per minute has been recorded in a Blue-Throated Hummingbird.
All this activity requires a humming bird to eat almost continually, to fuel the activity that will maintain its 105-109F body heat. That means dining as many as 15 times an hour, on high-energy food. In volume, they consume up to eight times their body weight a day. But reduce the nectar to a solid by eliminating the water, and it would amount to their own bodyweight.
A hummingbird can starve to death in as little as two hours, if still active. That makes rescue of birds trapped in garages or other enclosed areas, imperative within a short time. At night, their “thermal generators” shut down as they rest, and allow their body temperature to drop, so that less energy is used up while they sleep.
If you enjoy watching these delightful little birds, and are also an enthusiastic gardener, why not plant clumps of flowers or bushes, to bring them into your yard? Hummingbirds are creatures of habit, and will develop their own paths to food, checking them frequently and on a daily basis. Once they find out you have goodies, they’ll return over and over. Other hummers will follow, and you may then get to see hummingbird behavior at its worst, as they dive at each other to protect their food sources.
Good choices of food producing plants for hummingbirds includes such trees or bushes as Azaleas, Mimosa, Weigela, Cape Honeysuckle and Flowering Quince. Another semi-permanent attraction is a perennial bed with Bee Balm, Columbine, Lupine, Coral Bells and Canna. You can also plant a wide range of annuals like Fuschia, Impatiens, Petunias and Firespike, but consider growing some of your own plants from seed, as many flowers that are nursery grown, tend not to have as much nectar. Hummers will be overjoyed to discover this bonanza of blooms, and the tiny bugs that constitute the protein source of their diet.
To make sure you enjoy these little feathered friends for the whole season, hang some hummingbird feeders around your patio or gardens. But make sure there is a bit of distance between them, to avoid the squabbles, which can be quite a sight!
Because hummers are attracted to red flowers, you’ll find many of the hummingbird feeders available, are also colored red. This isn’t an absolute necessity, but it can be a bright spot in your garden. And the feeders come in all kinds of charming shapes from a hanging bunch of grapes, to a giant strawberry.
Commercial powdered “food” formula is available, but you can easily make your own by combining one part sugar to four parts water, and boiling it for two minutes, then cooling and storing in the fridge. Never use honey, which can ferment, or red dye, which can be harmful to the birds.
Only fill your hummingbird feeders to the one-third or halfway mark, as it would take many birds to empty the contents, and the feeders will need cleaning every few days to prevent the occurrence of mold. Wash in mild dish detergent, with no more than 10% bleach, and rinse several times. If you have mold inside the feeder, and can’t reach it with a bottle brush, put some sand in with the water, and swish that back and forth, until the mold is rubbed off.
Hummingbird Trivia
The hummingbird is so small, that an insect, the Praying Mantis is its natural enemy.
They are the only bird that can hover, and fly backwards as well as straight up or down
Hummingbirds can’t walk
The average life of a hummingbird is 3-4 years, although one specimen was caught in 1976 in Colorado, banded, and captured again in 1987

My kitty Misty

I am so sad to think that after having Misty for 6 months here at home. I developed a bad allergies and am taking medicine for more than 2 months now. She is our first family pet. I feel so sad that I will ask someone to adopt her or even giving it back to PAWS. My daughter really loves her, you can see it in the photo. We love to play with her. If any of the visitors on this page like her and wanted to give her a new home. Pls let me know. All the stuff we bought, all will go with her. We have a cat tree and she loves to be up there and looking down to us.
Our cat and life of a homeschool family
I decided that I only seen or having get together with friends once a week. I can call myself "busy beauty" :)), Being a homeschool family, I can't compare myself with other Moms that stayed at home while their children went to school. Oh I just missed those times that my house is spotty clean. This time, I really need to talk to my kids and race up who can clean our bedroom first. ---- and get the rewards.
Life of a mother, we are busy taking care of our children. If they went to school then you gotta help them with homework and other related school stuff. Feeding them and taking care of our kids if they are sick- so we became like a nurse. When kids is at school or home, mothers are busy cleaning after their mess and so we became like a maidservant. Well, what about if your kids are homeschool. Life is a little bit difficult than those mothers that their kids are at regular school. Can you ever think? I find everything is so hard and needs lots of sacrifices. For me, I can say. I salute to those families that they are homeschooling their children. Aside that they are willing to sacrifice their time in teaching their kids- they are also sacrificing their other hobbies. But I like my kids to learn the stuff that I learn.
As of this moment, I think I got stressed out with my allergies and plus we are catching up with our lessons. I got paranoid right now, I even vacuum walls..... We tried to take Misty back to PAWS but they wont take it if there is no doctor's note. So, I went ahead and made an appointment and got a note. I even asked my doctor that I wanted to have a diabetes test. I am afraid that I have- it runs in my family at my mother's side.
We tried to put Misty at Japanbase.com and even in yokosuka4sale.com. We are looking for a new home for her- if you knew anyone that wanted to adopt her. Please let me know. We will pay for her vaccination on June and all the stuff we bought for her - ALL will go with her. I feel bad, after that she is comfortable with us--- THERE! I got paranoid because of allergies :((. Mary is so sad but I dont wanna take medicine the whole time of my life that we have a cat.
