Ben and Mary's Moments

Last night, I asked Brian to give milk to the kids before going to bed. They were on the kitchen. Brian gave milk Mary first. It was really cute when Mary did not leave the kitchen just to see to it that her brother got his. She left after Benjamin got his milk and sit on the couch. It is really a fantastic moment for the siblings by taking care each other.

A Little Time Together but Fun

Brian and I need something a night out. As a couple we need to do that just to give more color to our marriage. Having kids is so hard to cope up with our relationship. We have so many times we wasted as the days passes by. We need to make up those times. Three weeks ago, Brian and I talk about to take advantage for the parents night out. They do something like this once a month. I called and we got lucky. There was space for both Ben and Mary. I am so excited to do some stuff while there is no kids bothering us.

It is finally here, we dropped the kids at 5:45PM at the main CDC. Benjamin was doing well but Mary was upset and wanted to come with us. Brian and I are just like newly wed couple. We were hungry of our own time together as married couple. We love to spend each others time. After we drop off the kids, we drove towards the main gate and talk about of where we are going to eat dinner. We were thinking of having dinner inside the base but there is a place that Brian saw and wanted to eat there. It is an Indian restaurant name NIRVANA located at the basement of Mikasa Shopping Plaza. On our way to Bluestreet, there were fundraisers selling cookies and yakitori. The yakitori tastes good and even the peanut butter cups. We ate one stick anyways just to satisfy the hungry stomach.

NIRVANA Restaurant, Mikasa Shopping Plaza at Bluestreet in Yokosuka Japan. This is a nice place, it is on the small side. There are 8 or 9 tables but the food were very tasty. If you love spicy food then this is the best place to eat. I saw that lots of people eating this place. We were really amazed how the Japanese made it cozy the small place. They were very good in squeezing themselves and has an understanding the small space to move on.

After we ate, we went to the NEX store and bought few stuff we needed and then we head to the Fleet theater. We want the movie X-files. Boy! I don't like the movie but it is ok. After we watch the movie, we picked up the kids. They were both sleeping and then drive home. We got home safe.... hooray... a little time together.

Infant formula vs breastfeeding

i just could not believe the news that I read from King5.com about infant formula which was imported from China. There is a present of melamine element which this element are using for making plastic wares like plates and etc. The infant formula were contaminated with this and this is dangerous for the babies. Here is the link http://www.king5.com/topstories/stories/NW_091108NAB_fda_tainted_formula_KS.677d4f72.html but you can read it here because I will paste it below:

FDA: Infant formula from China tainted by chemical
12:18 PM PDT on Thursday, September 11, 2008

By Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Federal officials say tainted infant formula from China may be on sale at ethnic groceries in this country. The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday urged U.S. consumers to avoid all infant formula from China, after several brands sold in that country were found to be contaminated with melamine, a chemical used in making plastics. The FDA says all U.S. brands of infant formula are safe.

But officials are concerned that some Chinese formula may be on sale at ethnic groceries, particularly in places like New York and San Francisco that have large populations of Chinese immigrants. No Chinese brands are approved for export to the United States.

There have been no reports of illnesses in the U.S.

Why we will not give to our children a good start by giving a breast milk where nothing to worry about. Aside from those mothers that is taking dangerous medicine because they were ill or drugged. That is the downside but if we are capable to feed our baby why won't do it. Why we let them eat the cow's milk as their start living in this world.

The Family Fleet Center has a program for parents night out. This will occur once a month and need reservations 2 or 3 weeks ahead. If you wanted to grab this opportunity to spend time together as a couple then try to call the Main CDC for the parents night out. They are going to give care to our children while we are doing some stuff together with your partner. Look at the www.cfay.navy.mil for more information or looking the phone numbers at Main CDC.

No Talking on the Phone While Driving

After drop off Minori and Haruki and their mothers. I was talking on the phone and when I turned to 134, the police saw me that I was talking on the phone. He waved his wand/batuta and then I stopped at the side of the road. He knew that my car plate is an american so he asked me if I speak Nihonggo and I said right away"NO". He said, no talking on the phone. I was a bit scared, not scared of having a ticket but I am thinking how much is the fine. He asked my drivers license and they might be calling in the base for an information.

I was so lucky that I did not get a ticket but just a warning. Driving here in Japan is really different. So, you better not talking on the phone while driving.
