Nagatoro Riverboat Ride and Grape Picking

We had this tour last October 3, 2009 and I did not posted photos. So here it is...

A little peep in the outside, I think we were in Yokohama on this. The sun was trying to get out from the dark clouds.

This is how Japanese harvested their rice, I think they harvest it by hand. Their rice farm is not that big and using machines like harvester is not reasonable. I find it expensive.

We were heading to the vineyard. Look down below, Brian could not even stand up. This vineyard is design for little people. This was our first stop of this tour, eating fresh grapes at Mikado Grape Farm. They have green and purple grapes.

After we ate grapes, we had a stop over in this museum, they called it festival hall. The float was built and painted it by hand. Japanese are very artistics with regards on this matter.

You can look up of what we did as we are looking up a restaurant. Click LINK HERE . There are more photos that I uploaded while we were walking around the Nagatoro station.
After that, we head to the Nagatoro train station. They parked the bus and we got off and look for lunch. This place is a small place and it seemed no Japanese here speaks english. Our tour guide tried to accomodate us. We ended up in a Japanese restaurant of course.

Japanese Style Restaurant in Nagatoro Japan

Brian and I always love to try new things, new food and all that. But exploring here in Japan is pretty much different. We did not explore much here because of only one reason. We cant read Japanese writings and most of their food have seashells or pork.

Benjamin and Mary outside the restaurant, it says, soba udon

The waitress gave us the menu, of course in Japanese writings. We can read the tempura and soba udon hahaha. We ordered that and ouch! there is pride shrimp in it. Well, we were hungry and put the shrimp on the side.

This is sweet pride soba noodles as an appetizers, it was good though. After we ate, Brian bought a bag and take it home.

Here we are, sitting a Japanese style....

The food was delicious, you can actually choose the food as hot and or cold soba. We ordered hot though by saying "hotto" hehehe

I made a separate post though as we are eating in a restaurant.

Wandering along the road-Nagatoro Japan

It is very cheap produce...
As we were heading to the boat pier, we saw this stalls, you can sit there and eat. Japanese styl;e snacks stalls.
This is a little shops where everyone goes.
Since Benjamin did not eat lunch, ice cream was his lunch. Picky eater kid
Brian with the kids, he tried to be low as possible. He thought he won't be in the picture hehehe..this was along the road, I think the Nagatoro train station it is just few yards away.
Mary found this little thing outside the restaurant and she ride. When Benjamin saw it. He joined to Mary.

We hit the end of the road which I called it a main road. We turn on this road head to the train station. We tried to look for a restaurant, hoping there is a restaurant that has picture on their menu. But we could not find it.

Sailing Day-Brian took us out in the SEA

Whoa! We just got back from sailing and the kids were out. Brian went to the bathroom and soaked up his foot. Got a foot-pain again.

I made movies from our little trip

The Monkey Island where lots of Japanese visiting on this little island. During Summer, this place is packed.
There is festival held in Mikasa Park. I wanna go there and be nosy and of course eat some food but I am tired after the sailing.

Yokosuka Naval base, those towers you seen. Those were the units where the military families lived.
Ben's snaps...
Taking photo as we go around the island...

It seemed Benjamin does not look good. He got sea-sick. Poor kid! he was throwing up. But we manage to let him coming out in the cabin and he can see the horizon.
The kids needs to stay inside the cabin when we got by big waves caused by big boats/ferries.
Here is our second guy in the boat
She finally coming out from the cabin. I think I was inviting her to eat some peanuts. She was so funny though and wanted to help changing the sails
Here is the master sailor, Brian.
Benjamin is helping me stirring the boat, he was really stirring it and he had fun though.
Mary stay inside the cabin, she was scared. We kept inviting her to come out. She was just look up in the water through the little window.

Wow! I am stirring the sailboat. Hold on guys! I always drive rough
